The Eagle helicopter followed the car from West Auckland until it came to stop on the Auckland motorway. A man has been arrested on Auckland's southern motorway after fleeing from police in Kumeu and then trying to car-jack a member of the public. The man was located at an address nearby and fled on foot before stealing a vehicle, a police spokeswoman said. The Khyber Pass off ramp remains closed and motorists are asked to take an alternative route.
