Locals caught the accused, Munnaf Sheikh alias Bangal, 45, and handed him over to police the same day. Quoting the survivor, a pre-primary school student, her mother told this correspondent that Munnaf had covered her mouth, took her inside his house and raped her. Locals then apprehended Munnaf and gave him a beating before handing him over to the police. Munnaf was sent to jail via court on Tuesday afternoon, according to Officer-in-Charge Md Masudur Rahman.
