Man arrested for defrauding jobseekers


more-inThe Thampanoor police on Tuesday arrested a 64-year-old man on charges of allegedly defrauding several people of large sums of money after providing them false promises of government jobs. The police identified the accused as Raju Antony, 64, of Vazhappally in Changanassery. He has been accused of collecting large sums after assuring them appointment in government departments and agencies. He also allegedly received a sum of ₹5.75 lakh from one Christudas of Parassala after the accused assured to get his son appointed in the District Cooperative Bank. He allegedly made away without paying his room rent of ₹1.5 lakh.
