The arrested, Md Mostaq, was apprehended by the police in Sadar upazila’s Islampur union, around 5am. Chapainawabganj Sadar model police station OC, Ziaur Rahman, said: “On Thursday afternoon, Mostaq first lured the minor to a lemon grove, raped the child, and fled.”Later, locals discovered the wounded child and rushed her to the Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital. Later in the day, the victim’s mother filed a case with the Sadar model police station in this regard. The case investigation officer, Mojibor Rahman, said: “In primary interrogation the rapist confessed to his crime.”Doctors also confirmed signs of rape and the child is receiving proper medical attention, he added.
