Rory Smyth has been arrested after allegedly driving 100kmh in central Dunedin’s 30kmh zone. Rory Smyth evaded them for a week, but police eventually got their man. His car, an Audi, was recovered by police during a property search in Hindon, about 40 kilometres from central Dunedin, on Thursday. Police estimated he reached speeds of just under 100kmh in the 30kmh shopping area, forcing officers to abandon the pursuit. He later avoided road spikes at Evansdale, just north of Dunedin.
