A man and a 16-year-old were killed and a five-year-old boy airlifted to hospital after an early morning collision on Highway 401 in Clarington on Monday, Ontario Provincial Police said. The 46-year-old driver and a teenaged boy sitting in the front passenger seat of the car died at the scene of the collision. A five-year-old boy who was in the back seat was airlifted to a trauma centre, Schmidt said. Westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed off for the investigation, but all lanes have since reopened. Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time or had seen the vehicle prior to the collision to call Whitby OPP at 416-235-4981.
