A 33-year-old man, Abdullahi Abubakar, who allegedly sold a fake gold necklace to another for N500,000, was on Wednesday brought before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos. Police Prosecutor, Benson Emuerhi, told the court that the accused committed the offences sometime in July, at Aiye Junction in Isolo area of Lagos. Emuerhi said that Abubakar fraudulently obtained the sum of N500,000 from one Mr Abubakar Isah, and sold a fake necklace to him. “Abubakar collected N500, 000 from Isah and sold a fake necklace to him claiming it was gold,” he said. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olufunke Sule-Amzat, granted the accused N200, 000 bail with two responsible sureties in like sum.
