A 35-year-old man, Gabriel Elijah, was on Thursday arraigned before a Barnawa Customary Court, Kaduna, over alleged beating of his neighbour’s wife. Elijah, a resident of Barnawa Complex Area of Kaduna State, is standing trial on a charge of assault. Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 27, 2018 at his residence. Leo said that Amaka Chinoso of the same address as the defendant, reported the matter at Barnawa Police Station, Kaduna, on the same date. Emmanuel ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed, with evidence of tax payment to the Kaduna State Government.
