A man was caught masturbating in a bush on the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway. A woman on an early morning walk along New Plymouth's Coastal Walkway saw a man performing an indecent act in a bush with his pants down, a court was told. STUFF Kylie Lewis Te Ruki pleaded guilty to committing the indecent act in a public place in New Plymouth District Court on Thursday. Defence lawyer Patrick Mooney said Te Ruki was currently engaged in counselling. Judge Garry Barkle convicted Te Ruki on the charge, ordered a pre-sentence report and referred the matter to restorative justice.
