Man accused of stealing ambulance in court


A man who allegedly stole an ambulance from South Dunedin and had to be stopped with road spikes has been granted bail. According to court documents, the ambulance was worth $220,000. He was granted bail to live at a South Dunedin address between 7pm and 7am and ordered not to drive. Police said the ambulance was taken from South Dunedin about 11pm yesterday. They tracked it using its GPS and the vehicle was stopped in Waihola using road spikes.
