A man who has been accused of killing his wife for dowry by poisoning her drink was granted bail by a Delhi court. Additional Sessions Judge Sukhvinder Kaur granted bail on a bond of Rs 1 lakh after it found no prima facie evidence to substantiate the man's conviction regarding the demand for dowry. "Further, in view of the subsequent opinion on the postmortem report given by the concerned doctor, prima facie it does not seem to be a case of homicide as well," the court said. Rana's contention was confirmed by the Forensic Lab report who reported the presence of methyl alcohol, contradicting the police's claims that she was poisoned. Earlier, the parents of the accused had been granted bail by the court in connection with the same matter.
