Moniruzzaman Shahin, aka 'Banduk Shahin', was involved with the BNP and had been accused of a number of crimes including murder, claimed the police on Friday. The 50-year-old was killed during a shootout at Narayanganj's Galachipa Goalia Khal area, said Additional Police Superintendent Md Sharfuddin. It followed after the police got a tip-off about Shahin's whereabouts, he said. "Shahin had 12 cases lodged against him in various police stations for murder, extortion, drugs and several other offences." The police recovered a foreign-made pistol and four rounds of ammunition from the site, he said.
