Barcelona were heavy favourites to land the 19-year-old this summer having already secured a £65 million deal to sign his Ajax teammate Frenkie de Jong. But now, Catalan radio station RAC1 report that United are in pole position to sign De Ligt and the Netherlands international is ‘very close’ to a move to Old Trafford. The report claims that the deal is not yet finalised but De Ligt has received an offer from United which is ‘too good to turn down’.
