Lindelof joined Manchester United last summer from Benfica for around £31million but he struggled to make an impression in his first season in England. Mourinho has several options at centre-back but is desperate to make another addition to his backline before the transfer window closes and is prepared to offload players to raise funds. But Lindelof appears to be one player Mourinho wants to keep at Old Trafford. According to French outlet L’Equipe, Lyon made contact with United about signing Lindelof but Mourinho stepped in and vetoed any possible deal.
