Fernandes had an exceptional season for Sporting, notching up 20 goals and 13 assists in the Primeira Liga, and clubs from around Europe are lining up offers for the 24-year-old. Though Fernandes insists that he’s committed to Sporting for the time being, the free-scoring midfielder is open to the prospect of plying his trade in England next season. ‘But as I said I’m good at Sporting and now I’m focused on the cup. ‘My debut season at Sporting was the first time I played so many games, I thought I needed one more season with that kind of regularity.
