Jose Mourinho is concerned by his defensive options and wanted to sign the 24-year-old centre-half. United put an offer of £102,000-a-week to the French defender, with Barcelona concerned that the Red Devils would trigger his £54million release clause. However, Umtiti decided he wanted to renew with the La Liga leaders instead, according to Sport.
