Manchester United paid £30million more for Antony last summer than they wanted to, it has been revealed. Erik ten Hag finally got his man after tough negotiations with his former club Ajax. United had made him their number one target though, while the player was also reportedly desperate to make the move happen. In doing so, they extracted a whopping £30m more out of their star man than perhaps they expected. Ten Hag had got his man after the United chiefs backed him by spending an additional £30m on his preferred target 12 months ago as opposed to turning to another player.
