That target is fellow England attacking midfielder Maddison who will be leaving Leicester this summer following their relegation to the Championship. Like Mount, Maddison’s contract is up in 2024 and the Foxes want at least £50m for their playmaker who scored 10 and assisted nine last season. But that is an incentive that United are also able to offer and though stylistically he is a very different player to Mount, Maddison would no doubt be a huge asset to Ten Hag’s team.
