Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing midfield recruits in the January transfer window and has drawn up a shortlist of six stars they could look to recruit, according to reports. United are light in the middle because of injuries. That leaves the Red Devils with only Fred and Nemanja Matic, who has been tipped to leave the club this month, as natural senior central midfielders, though Andreas Pereira can also play there. And the Evening Standard say Solskjaer is now of the opinion that United need to strengthen in the middle of the park. The 20-time Premier League champions have let go of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera in the last 12 months without replacing them in the transfer market.
