Man Utd have James Maddison transfer belief which hints at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer strategy

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems unlikely to make a No 10 signing this month. The Norwegian coach is seemingly set on signing Leicester City ’s James Maddison but is to be made to wait for the playmaker. United are light on top-class talents in attacking midfield, with Andreas Pereira yet to grasp his chance, Jesse Lingard’s form over the last 12 months woeful, Juan Mata’s powers waning and Angel Gomes set to depart on a free transfer in the summer after rejecting a new contract. The Red Devils have been linked with a host of attack-minded midfielders in the past year, including the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen and more recently Maddison and Jack Grealish. And the Evening Standard report that it is Maddison who tops their list of targets as they seek to add some much-needed vision and innovation into their team.
