However, any potential move for the Dutchman looks likely to be scuppered as Manchester City have already swooped in and reportedly agreed a £40m deal to bring Ake to the Etihad. In terms of other options, former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood believes United should go for Leicester City centre-back Caglar Soyuncu. ‘I think they need extra cover at centre-back,’ Sherwood told DAZN.
