Solskjaer has won his first two games in charge after taking over temporarily following the sacking of Jose Mourinho. However, ESPN claim the search for a permanent successor will be extensive and that Allegri is an option they are seriously considering. Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is the current frontrunner and the reports says they still see him as their top target. The Italian is also a two-time Champions League runner-up and won the league with AC Milan in 2008. United are looking to appoint their first ever director football and Allegri has worked in similar set-ups at his previous clubs.
