The 39-year-old has been in charge of Sporting since 2020 and the job he is doing has attracted a lot of attention after two Primeira Liga titles under his control. Sporting are again top of the Primeira Liga, with eight wins from eight games, and Fernandes likes what he sees at the club from which he joined Manchester United. ‘Since Mr Amorim arrived at Sporting, it has been one of the teams to practice better football,’ the 30-year-old told CNN Portugal. Coaching Sporting and winning championships is not easy, Sporting went 20 years without winning championships and Amorim arrived and has already won two.
