Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told club chief Ed Woodward to improve on last summer’s recruitment drive and has given the club’s executive vice-chairman a three-man shortlist of players he wants. United have had an unimpressive start to the season but after their 2-1 win over Tottenham on Wednesday night they currently sit sixth in table after 15 games. However, they are still eight points off the top-four and 22 points off league leaders and bitter rivals Liverpool. The report also claims that while any major business is likely to be conducted in the summer, if any of his targets become available in January the club will look to sign the players on his wish-list.
