Manchester City midfielder Claudio Echeverri has joined Girona on loan for the rest of the 2025-26 season. The 20-year-old spent the first half of the campaign on loan in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, but has made only 11 appearances and started just three times in all competitions. La Liga side Girona are part of part of the global Manchester City Football Group (CFG) network. Echeverri signed for City in January 2024 on a four-and-a-half-year contract for around £12.5m but he remained at River Plate on loan for another year. He was given a surprise debut by Pep Guardiola as a substitute in May's FA Cup final defeat by Crystal Palace and scored against Al Ainn at the Club World Cup before moving to Leverkusen.
