Manchester City are reportedly ready to battle with Chelsea to sign Nathan Ake in the January transfer window, but Frank Lampard’s side hold a slight advantage in going after the Bournemouth defender. Ake has established himself as one of the best young centre-backs in the league during his time with Bournemouth. Chelsea drew some criticism for cashing in on Ake back in 2017 for £20million, and it seems the club are now interested in re-signing the centre-back. A central defender is reportedly top of their list with Sky Sports claiming Ake is a main priority. However, they could be rivalled by defending champions Manchester City, who have endured their own defensive issues this campaign.
