Man City investigating second person over allegations of child sex abuse

Manchester City are investigating allegations of child sex abuse against John Broome, who has "potential historic connections" to the club. City launched a QC-led review in November 2016 to investigate whether former City scout Barry Bennell used the club to facilitate abuse of young footballers. Broome is now dead and is not believed to be linked to Bennell, who was found guilty of a total of 43 counts of child sex abuse against 11 victims at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday. The statement continued: "The review team has engaged closely and transparently with police investigators and the football authorities throughout the past 15 months. Manchester City FC is extremely grateful to all those who have participated in the review so far.
