Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said a hike in ticket prices at the Etihad would allow for more investment in the team on the pitch. Al Mubarak addressed criticism from supporters at a rise of five per cent in season ticket prices for next season and explained why the decision had been made in his end-of-season interview with club media. Supporters groups have protested against the decision and said some matchgoing fans were being priced out of attending games at the Etihad. Al Mubarak said discussions were still taking place with fans in an attempt to find a solution. I appreciate the feelings of our fans when it comes to a very important aspect, which is the price of a ticket," said Al Mubarak.
