The Marion County Attorney’s Office said Wednesday that a 45-year-old man was charged with two counts of negligence of dependents and one count of unsafe control of a firearm. After officers repeatedly called out to those inside, officers entered and saw a man at the end of the hallway wearing only his underwear, officials said. The man told officers he was sick and didn’t know his son had left the apartment. According to the affidavit, the man later told officers that the gun belonged to a cousin who “sometimes left his handgun behind in his apartment when he was mentally unstable.” Said he didn’t know the number.
