The family of Thanu Cherdchatuchak said the man left home in Ban Ran Ya village in Tambon Nong Done on Thursday to cut wood for fuel and did not return home. A villager spotted the body while walking past the spot in the morning. The old man’s face was hit with what appeared to have been a hard object, said police. His handsaw was left near the scene. He was apparently about to cut a tree near a railway track that runs through the village’s paddy field.
