The Aberdeen Avenue fire was one of three that kept emergency crews busy overnight. The man was taken to hospital in critical condition after he was rescued from the fire in the 300 block of Aberdeen. Winnipeg police are treating the death of a 50-year-old man in a house fire early Wednesday morning as a homicide. Then at 2 a.m., firefighters were called to the 200 block of Young Street in the West Broadway neighbourhood. Crews were first called to a multiple-dwelling home in the 1100 block of Redwood Avenue, off Radford Street, at 1 a.m. No one was hurt.
