A man has been arrested in North Toronto for allegedly “luring” a 14-year-old girl over social media following a search that found sexually explicit material, Toronto police said in a news release Thursday. Police said officers from the Child Exploitation Section executed a search warrant in the area of Eglinton Ave. W. and Avenue Rd. on Wednesday after allegations that a man with the handle “jaytopsir” allegedly lured a 14-year-old girl on social media. Jared Battieste, 30, of Toronto, was arrested and has been charged with two counts of underage sexual exploitation charges. Police said Battieste was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, adding investigators are concerned there may be other victims.
