A 26-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot Monday night at a shopping plaza during an apparent carjacking in Thornhill, police say. Two men approached the victim, and the woman he was with, in a parking lot at 100 Steeles Ave. W., near Yonge St. at 11 p.m., and demanded the keys to their vehicle, police said. The victim was shot in the altercation, and the woman, 23, was assaulted and suffered minor injuries. He was rushed to Sunnybrook hospital in life-threatening condition. The two suspects fled in the victim’s 2008 black Ford Fusion with the licence plate number BNNM866, York Region police said.
