The collision occurred at the junction of Middle Abbey Street and O’Connell Street, Dublin 1, shortly before 1pm on Wednesday. The Luas red line remains out of service through much of Dublin city centre on Wednesday evening. The red line remains in service between Tallaght/Saggart and Smithfield, 1km west of O’Connell Street.
