The 19-year-old, from Preston, was swimming close to the St Anne's Pier when he got into difficulties at around 7.20pm yesterday. He was rescued from the water and taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, but unfortunately died a short time later. Three other people were taken to hospital following the tragedy. "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding his death and it is not currently being treated as suspicious. "Three other casualties were taken to hospital to be treated for water inhalation."
