Mamata Banerjee wants more strict laws for road safety

Nephew Abhisekh Banerjee's near fatal accident has been an eye opener of sorts for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. West Bengal government is all geared to frame two traffic safety laws in the current winter session of the state legislative assembly to bring to book the errant drivers, who will be responsible for casualty. Mamata said that such stringent measures are being introduced keeping in mind the safety of people at large. The new laws, which are taking shape, will be strict on violators of traffic rules. She also urged the education minister Partha Chatterjee to consider distribution of helmets for the school children.
