KOLKATA: Breaking her silence over the Biswa Bangla logo controversy, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday told the assembly that she created the logo and gave it free to the government.She also said the West Bengal government could use the logo as long as it wanted to. The Biswa Bangla logo is my creation. This was my dream and a dream cannot be sold. I gave it to the state government for using it free of cost. The Biswa Bangla brand is our pride," the CM said, without naming Roy.The CM on Wednesday gave documents to assembly speaker Biman Banerjee, showing that the state government's application for registration of the logo was accepted by the Controller-General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks on June 19, 2014.
