Mama Cax, a trailblazing fashion model and blogger who overcame a cancer diagnosis and leg amputation in her teens, has died. The Haitian-American model told MSNBC in July that she struggled with depression and felt "ashamed" about how she looked after her amputation at age 14. But she eventually grew comfortable with her body, growing a significant following and wearing an array of colourful prosthetic as she graced fashion runways. Cax studied at the City College of New York, graduating in 2012.
