Share TweetBy Agence France-PresseA woman among 64 migrants rescued in the Mediterranean by German charity Sea-Eye was evacuated to Malta on Tuesday after feeling unwell, the charity and Valletta said. “They reacted promptly and professionally and initiated the evacuation of the young woman,” Sea-Eye said. The rescue ship initially tried to take them to the Italian island of Lampedusa, but Italy’s far-right Interior Minister Matteo Salvini refused to let them land and said Berlin should take them. The rescued migrants and 17 crew are all sleeping in a room designed for 20 people.
