By ROGER AMSDEN, LACONIA DAILY SUNGILMANTON — Republican state Rep. Michael Maloney has resigned from his seat in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Maloney, who represented Belknap County District 5, which is made up of the towns of Alton and Gilmanton, resigned effective Friday, Oct. 13. Rivers said that legislators who were friends of Maloney told him that Maloney was moving to Maine. Maloney's resignation leaves the Belknap County Delegation with only 16 members. Maloney has ben absent from eight of the 12 Belknap County Delegation meetings held this year.
