MANILA, Philippines — Healthway Medical, a mall-based clinic, denies that one of its clinics in Shangri-La Plaza has a patient from China who has been diagnosed with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). “A certain individual is claiming that there is a confirmed SARS patient from China that was seen by a Healthway doctor. Please be advised that THIS IS A FAKE NEWS,” Healthway Medical said in an advisory on its official website. ADVERTISEMENT“There was no reported SARS case in any Healthway clinic specifically the Shangri-La branch,” it added. China initially reported that the outbreak which affect 59 people was due to a virus from a family pathogens including SARS.
