NEW DELHI: After Lt Col Prasad Purohit was granted bail in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, BJP alleged that Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had "indulged in politicisation of terror" and demanded that they apologise to the country.BJP spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao accused the Congress of "attempts to defame the Hindu community in particular and Indians in general".Reacting to the bail, Congress accused the BJP-led gov ernment of "protecting" all accused "connected to the RSS".Rao responded that investigations were "fixed" during the UPA 's tenure to give credence to its political narrative of Hindu terror. "Sonia and Rahul must apologise to the country for indulging in politicisation of terror and for attempts to defame the Hindu community in particular and Indians in general".Meanwhile, MoS for home Kiren Rijiju dismissed Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh's accusation that the government was protecting terror accused, adding that "it was a process of judiciary" and that the "government didn't need to intervene".He said whoever deserved justice would get it. "There was no conspiracy about it."
