Malaysians risk losing government aid, pay higher income tax if PH wins, says Najib

PADANG TERAP: The people risk facing two huge implications of losing various aides and incentives from the government after Pakatan Harapan (PH) abolishes the Goods and Services Tax (GST) if they come into power. Najib said he feared that PH would have to find ways to cover the losses by slashing existing government handouts and hiking up income tax. He said besides abolishing BR1M, PH might also stop special incentives for padi farmers and special aid to civil servants as well as the 1Malaysia Special School Aid. On the Siamese community, Najib said, the government had agreed to ease the enrolment process for students from Siamese community to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). In 2012, Najib had given assurance that the government would make sure the Siamese community in the country received all the benefits allocated for the Bumiputera as stated in the Federal Constitution.
