KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 12): Datuk Seri Najib Razak has urged Malaysians abroad not to be swayed by claims that Malaysia is a failed state, saying there are ample evidence to show that the country is heading towards becoming a developed nation. Besides that, he cited infrastructure development such as the mass rapid transit system and Pan Borneo Highway as the driving force in placing Malaysia among the top 20 developed countries by 2050. Also present at the gathering were Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim, Malaysian Ambassador to the US Tan Sri Dr Zulhasnan Rafique and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa. Najib said Malaysia would continue to support global efforts to combat terrorism and present the true image of Islam and its teachings. Bernama also quoted Najib as saying that Malaysia's relations with the US remained strong in spite of the leadership change.
