KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia does not need any stimulus package for the time being as the government is managing the economy prudently, said HSBC Malaysia chief executive officer Stuart Milne. Milne said Malaysia is strategically an important market for HSBC as the banking group had been investing to add more customers and grow its business. Milne said Malaysia was a highly integrated into the global supply chain and believes the country would do well with stable currency and good outlook. HSBC’s global survey ‘Navigator: How, next and how’ revealed local businesses’ optimism about growth prospects had strengthened over the past 12 months. He said protectionism was a concern among the Malaysian companies as the country was currently heavily-linked to the global supply chain.
