Makueni county has more than 29,370 people living with HIV among them 5,838 youth aged between 15-24 years, regional coordinator Catherine Mutuku has said. She said the county lost 797 adults, 78 children aged between 0-14 years and 79 youth aged between 15-24 years in 2015 to HIV. Mutuku said the county has 1,966 female sex workers mostly in Mtito Andei, Kibwezi, Kiunduani, Makindu, Salama and at the standard gauge railway camps along the Mombasa Nairobi-Highway.
