PETALING JAYA: Stadium Juara in Bukit Kiara could be converted into additional training courts for the Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM). Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohd Taufiq Johari said the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) had made the request to utilise the facility two weeks ago. Located adjacent to ABM, Taufiq said it made logistical sense to equip Stadium Juara with additional courts, which would save travel time for players and coaches. “We have had discussions with BAM regarding this matter about two weeks ago in my office,” said Taufiq. “Badminton is the country’s main sport, and currently, talks regarding the budget and sponsorships are ongoing,” added Taufiq after visiting the players at the ABM in Bukit Kiara yesterday.
