Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has named a former Minority Whip of the House of Representatives and former Publicity Secretary of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Honourable (Chief) Babatunde Oduyoye, as his Special Adviser on Strategy and Political Matters. The newly-named special adviser holds a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Nigeria’s premier University, the University of Ibadan, where he also had his undergraduate studies in Psychology. The statement further indicated that he served two terms in the House of Representatives, representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency between 1999 and 2007. Oduyoye, who is also a businessman and a stakeholder in the hotel and tourism industry, while in the House of Representatives, served in various House committees, including Police Affairs, Education, Culture and Tourism and Inter-Parliamentary Union. Oduyoye is the chairman/CEO of Majerita Ventures Limited; Majerita Hotels and Resorts Ltd and Wawo Stores Limited.
