OYO State governor-elect, Mr Seyi Makinde, has vowed to ensure unity within the Ibadan traditional institution and dismissed insinuations that he planned on dethroning the Ibadan kings that were installed by the current administration. Makinde made the remarks on Friday during a visit of members of the Olubadan-in-Council, led by the Otun Olubadan, High Chief Lekan Balogun, to his Ikolaba, Ibadan residence. The visitors included High Chief Hamidu Ajibade, High Chief Owolabi Olakulehin, High Chief Abiodun Kola-Daisi and High Chief Eddy Oyewole. The history I grew up to read and know is that the traditional council reforms itself. “Anything and everything I can do to see the traditional institution become one body, I will do it, but I won’t impose anything.
