In the past, all motorists and bikers will comply with the law that requires them to give the right of way to pedestrians using the zebra crossing. They will slow down from a distance when they are approaching a zebra crossing, so they have sufficient time to make a stop when pedestrians are crossing. Today, pedestrians using the zebra crossing have to exercise more care before they cross the road. It is extremely dangerous for pedestrians to use the zebra crossing today. Otherwise, it defeats the purpose of having a zebra crossing.
